President's Message
As you’ll read in the scribe’s notes below, we covered many topics last week. One was the review of the Peace Oration. It was generally regarded as a huge success with adjectives such as “riveting” used. It’s not too early to start thinking about a speaker for next year.

In the last few days members have attended the Charles Hotel raffles Thursday and Friday evenings, the Green Connect event on Saturday, the Rotary Park clean up on Sunday and the Bunnings bbq on Monday. We’re always busy!

Tonight we’ll hear a little about our members Kate and Ros. They have both already made a huge contribution to our club, supporting events and volunteering for many activities.

See you there.
President Rose

Last Week’s Meeting Minutes: Scribe – Anne Christensen

Seargent Dennis opened the meeting and introduced President rose who welcomed everyone to tonight's meeting.

Michael - Gave the Reflection Toast to the Rotary Club of West Wollongong, stating that we had just had our 61st birthday and in all that time we have contributed hugely to many projects and also had lots of fun.

Noel - Reported on the takings from the Charles Hotel raffles.
Ken - Mentioned that 23/5/25 is scheduled for RYDA to be held at Kembla Grange again.  Help required in setting up please.

Rose  *Tonya Barnes has resumed DH duties again.  The elected DG has been unable to fulfill the position and 4 previous DG's have stepped in, taking on the duties each for 3 months.
           *Nominations for DG close 6/4/25.
           * If anyone know of a person/s suitable for the Rotary Districts of NSW Emergency
Services Community Service Award please let Rose know.
*District Assembly at Bankstown Sports Club from 9am-5pm 17/5/25.  New Rotarians are encouraged to attend.  Clubs need members to attend as part of the criteria for a district grant.              *Rose is happy to drive anyone who wants to attend.

*"Arthur's" park clean up is scheduled for 8.30 am this Sunday, 10/4/25 for about 1-1 1/2 hours. Bring a leaf rake if you have one. Numbers for Catering, please.  Rita and Rose will bring coffee and "goodies".
*Don't forget... DAYLIGHT SAVING ends this w/end.

DINNER

Dennis re introduced Rose who showed a pic of the trailer donated to Green Connect through a District Grant. It was decided the extra money from the grant could go towards a spare tyre and a lock.

A discussion was held re advertising our club on the side/back of the trailer.  Rose will take it up with (whoever does this sort of thing. Difficult to hear)

A Green Connect farm tour can be arranged if anyone wants to go.  Let Rose know and she will send you the link.

Bulletin rosters confusing.  ?why.  Apparently, the rosters were entered manually and may have been mixed up.  Rosters available on web site.

Annette mentioned some ideas for social events.  All were welcomed so she will investigate further.

Comments were made re: the Peace Oration.  All were very positive and while the speaker spoke longer than anticipated, it was so interesting that no-one minded. the slightly later than usual meal ordering really did not disrupt the Builders' Club staff unduly.

Raffle ..... won by Kate and Marilyn.

Seargent's session gave everyone a bit of a laugh with "Patrick" type jokes uttered by Dennis, who then wound up the meeting.

Kind Regards,

Anne Christensen.
