For the past 30 years, the Rotary Club of West Wollongong has proudly hosted an annual Citizenship Ceremony during a regular Rotary dinner meeting. This event is conducted under the auspices of Citizenship NSW and with the authority of the Lord Mayor of Wollongong. In the spirit of Rotary fellowship, our club has had the privilege of welcoming approximately 400 individuals as new citizens, allowing them to partake in this significant and memorable milestone.

This longstanding tradition reflects the club’s deep commitment to community service and civic pride. It provides an opportunity not only to celebrate Australia’s newest citizens but also to foster greater understanding, inclusion and connection within our local community. The ceremony is always a moving occasion, marked by warmth, hospitality, and the shared joy of those taking their pledge, many of whom are joined by family and friends to witness this meaningful step in their Australian journey.
