President's Message
After several months of preparation, our 2026 Citizenship Dinner and Ceremony finally arrived, and by Jove, it was well worth the wait. Our Special Guests Alison Byrnes MP, Member for Cunningham and Lord Mayor Councillor Tania Brown, together with our Rotary members, partners and friends welcomed 15 New Australian Citizens last Wednesday evening.
Definitely one of the favourite events on our Rotary calendar, and also on our Special Guests calendar, I am told, the evening went without a hitch and was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Many thanks to Pat Roberts and Marilyn Phillips for organising the event, our wonderful MC John Erickson, poet laureate Ken Potter and Kevin Wanambiro for a wonderful reflection. Our thanks also to Alison Byrnes, Tania Brown and the wonderful people at Centro CBD for a great meal, location and accommodating all our requirements. We certainly look forward to next year's ceremony.
Thank you to everyone who assisted at our Bunnings BBQ on 4 May. Though not as busy as prior BBQ's, we still achieved a great result. our next BBQ is Monday 1 June 2026 at Kembla Grange.
Our guest speaker this week is Rod Von Clark, CEO Flagstaff Group for what should be an informative talk about his organisation. I look forward to seeing you all there.
