Ride for Rotary (R4R) - Just 10 Weeks to Go

Event Details:
  • Sunday 13th September at Lang Park with the ride starting at 10am
  • FREE registration to open R4R up for more riders registering, learn about this great event and hopefully get some sponsors
  • 10 to 11:    Loop the Lighthouse Ride - riders 10 and over.
  • 11 to 12:    Loop the Lighthouse - Children under10 and All Abilities Ride - children to be accompanied by a guardian.
  • 10 to 2:      Enjoy the vibe at Lang Park, a Family Fun Day with more food, entertainment and cycling expo stalls
  • This should be a larger event than in the past as we are collaborating with Destination Wollongong's Ride Wollongong.
  • As part of Ride Wollongong, we have the support of many of the Bike City Community Partners. I Bug, K Bug, Illawarra Cycle Club just to mention three.
Your club campaign:      Just 10 Weeks To Go So A Great Time To Kick Off
  • Soon we will provide a brief presentation to remind your members why R4R is a great event to support
  • Soon we will provide an eFlyer for networking at both club members network level and also with your local businesses.
  • Creating a Team - Live or Virtual or Both allows you to invite the community to join you
  • Help your members join in to register, donate or invite a friend
  • Enthuse your members as this starts good community relationships and possible membership in time.
  • Promote your club as there will be Radio, TV and professional social media advertising
Website:     We are back to using our own, simpler and preferred website.
  • Select Register to Ride
  • Register for the Live or Virtual ride.
  • You can create or join your team while registering.
    • The Corrimal Cruisers Rotary are registered and getting ready to go.
  • You can add other participants, but it is important to note.:
    • This requires their email address - you can't use your own for multiple registrations
    • This sends them an email to respond to and accept the entry.
    • If they miss this step let Jason know and he can complete the entry from the back end
  • Select your ride time. 10 or 11.
  • NO payment action required
  • Now to start fundraising:
    • Log into your specific ride page and familiarise
    • The website remembered my log-in details, so it was very simple - let is know if any problems
    • Take a few minutes to improve your individual ride page
    • Review the campaign email and social media buttons for easy campaigning
  • Plan to send out some emails or social media invites to sponsor your ride or join in.
    • I am going to run my campaign 4 weeks prior to the ride - I will put a half day aside to do this
  • If we find any possible improvements, we can make suggestions to Jason (cc Me) and he will look at them.
  • Target is $50,000. We want to establish this new event format and then go for big growth in the years to come.
Team Zoom Meetings, Two only:
  • Thursday 23rd July at 6.30pm
  • Thursday 20th August at 6.30pm
  • Please put in your diary and I will send the links a couple of hours before the meeting
Promotions and Growth Opportunities:
  • This should be a larger event than in the past as we are collaborating with Destination Wollongong's Ride Wollongong.
  • As well as our own advertising we will have advertising from Destination Wollongong also.
Other Information:
  • On the day we have volunteers from the Destination Wollongong volunteer team attending. Rotarians are welcome to be available and help out if they wish.

Thank You to Our Generous Supporters
The Charles Hotel

The IMB Bank Community Foundation
Monetary Grants from the IMB Bank Community Foundation allow us to conduct the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program throughout the year at Kembla Grange Racecourse.
Aimed at students in years 10-12, students attend 6 sessions focusing on the various areas of Road Safety.
The IMB Bank Community Foundation helps build better, brighter communities.
