• Sergeant Patrick opened the meeting at 6.18pm and introduced the President.
   
• President Bob welcomed all the members and guests after being given an explanation of the difference between morse code and modern programming!
   
• REFLECTION was provided by John under the general title of not being afraid of change. He reflected on his early days in Rotary and the imminent changes we now are facing in the Club. With good will and the input of experts the changes are to ensure the longevity and prosperity of Rotary into the future.
   
• INTERNATIONAL TOAST was presented by Phil to the Rotary Club of Amsterdam -Zuid which was chartered in 1952 as part of District 1580. With 29 members Phil outlined the various projects undertaken by the Club including supporting seven local charities funded by an auction where personal pieces of the Club members are put under the hammer??

DIRECTORS REPORTS.

• Helen will be organising the social night on the 5th of August.
   
• Rose referred members to the Email promoting the Ride for Rotary seeking input and support by way of sponsorships for our own team the Wobbly Wheelers. Rose reminder members of the proceeds are to support the Southern Youth and Family services.
   
• Phil confirmed that the Bunnings BBQ roster is full and thanked members for their support. Currently we have 265 starters for the Rotary Race Day requiring an additional 35 to meet our attendance quota. Still requiring additional items for the Silent Auction. District grant applications close on July 31st so and submissions need to be considered as a matter of urgency. Rose suggested that we should seek a grant for the Imagination Library.
   
• Ann introduced her guest Chris Dahmen a computer technician who has assisted her with several problems and she highly recommended his services.

GUEST SPEAKER. DR MITCHELL ST. CLAIR GLOVER.

• Mitchell outlined his post graduate activities and his plans for the future titled “The next chapter”. His history of:
  - July20 enrolled in his PHD studies
  - June 23 Part-time employment
  - Feb 24 Full-time employment
  - May 25 Graduated 
  - Technical Officer supporting undergraduate teaching & running several Molecular subjects.
  - Lead technical support to undergraduate teaching. Maintain specialist laboratory equipment. Provide in-class technical support.
  - He redesigned BIOL340 into a project-based laboratory course.
  - Expanding his opportunities he took on the role of project coordinator (New Liverpool Campus) Feb-June 2026.
  - Expanding his opportunities to Senior Microscopy Specialist (Molecular Horizons Research facility) currently and building on expertise gained through advanced imaging research.
  - And looking ahead: Mentoring and supporting the next generation of scientists and continuing research into sensory neutrons and 3D bioprinting.
   
• Mitchell thanked the Club for his support.
   
• Michael thanked Mitchell for his presentation pointing out that he has been our most successful PHD candidate.
   
• Sergeant Patrick closed his session with a mini fines' session and a long-winded joke with a most unsatisfactory conclusion!!
   
• Next week is our Club Assembly with a request to advise Secretary Kerry of any topics that members may wish to be raised.
   
• Michael advised that our Scholarship list has been determined with interviews to follow.
   
• Meeting Closed at 7.32pm.
