Membership & New Club Development
Presidents Message
A successful club assembly with constructive member input as usual.
A few matters to keep in mind from this meeting requesting further such input if appropriate:
- The donations committee is having a meeting soon and again welcomes all suggestions as to possible recipients for consideration.
- Our AGM which is quickly drawing closer is when the 2027-28 Board, including President and President Elect need to be confirmed. Note that we do not have a Pres. Elect as yet for this year. Please don’t be shy in accepting your nomination and remember, SELF NOMINATION IS WELCOMED.
- The District Draft Strategic Plan is about to be circulated to members.
Please have a good read of this document as well as an attached member’s assessment.
For those attending either the social evening or the Police Awards night on the 5th, have a good one.
John Erickson opened the meeting at 6:15PM and President Bob welcomed everyone to the meeting, hoping they all enjoy the bread rolls.
Phil's reflection was on the importance of volunteering, it's effect on the community, the sense of achievement it brings and the importance of remembering the date you had volunteered for.
Marilyn's International Toast was to the Rotary Clubs of Japan after the recent earthquakes had devasted the region.
There were no directors reports as they would form part of the club assembly that immediately followed the club meeting and which is documented separately.
Helen reminded all present of the Club's Social Night on 5 August being held at Towradgi Bowling Club. Please let Helen know if you wish to attend.
Sergeant John graced those present with a few, not half bad, jokes.
The Club Assembly was held from 6:45 PM until 7:30 PM. Minutes for the Club Assembly will be distributed separately once compiled.
Our wine raffle winners were Mike Crowley and Pres. Bob Armessen, pictured below.
The generous support of The Charles Hotel and it's Amazing Patrons enable us to fund-raise, via our Thursday Night Jag the Joker and Friday Night Meat Raffles, in support of various local, national and international charitable organisations much in need of funding for their various community programs.
The IMB Bank Community Foundation
Monetary Grants from the IMB Bank Community Foundation allow us to conduct the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program throughout the year at Kembla Grange Racecourse.
Aimed at students in years 10-12, students attend 6 sessions focusing on the various areas of Road Safety.
The IMB Bank Community Foundation helps build better, brighter communities.
Bunnings Warehouse - Kembla Grange
The generous support of the Bunnings Warehouse - Kembla Grange BBQ Program allows us to fund-raise in support of various local, national and international charitable organisations much in need of funding for their various community programs.
In addition, Bunnings donate equipment and vouchers in support of our other fund-raising initiatives.
