President's Message
Our first Social Night on the first Wednesday of every month was held last week at Woonona-Bulli RSL Club and was a tremendous success. Thank you to Bob Armessen for choosing the location and a huge thank you to Jim Christensen for allowing us to experience the Woonona-Bulli RSL Sub-Branch office and meeting room.
Jim's discussion on the differences between the RSL Club and RSL Sub-Branch, Royal Australian Navy Ranks and insignia, stories behind some of the memorabilia in the room, stories of how his family came to Australia, the guns on display at the RSL and much more were fascinating and certainly prompted many questions from those in attendance.
We now look forward to our next Social Evening, organised by Albert Cachia!!
The PCYC, Fit for Life program kicked off once again for this calendar year. Thank you, Ray Lee, for liaising with the other Clubs and putting the roster together. Thanks also to Rose and Kate for volunteering for the first morning on short notice.
Our Pride of Workmanship Awards night will take place again this year, in late October, thanks to Jim Christensen. Jim is asking for all members to consider people they wish to nominate for a POW Award. Please pass your nominations directly to Jim.
Due to Parliamentarian availability, we have had a date change for our Australian Citizenship Ceremony & Dinner. It will now be held on 6 May 2026 at Centro CBD.
This week's speaker is our own Helen Hasan who will give us an insight on the Israel - Palestine conflict. It should be fascinating and emotive. I encourage all members to attend and look forward to seeing you all there.
Cheers,
President Phil
