September is Rotary's Basic Education and Literacy Month
President Phil with speakers Jayden Godbold, Maddie Lawson, Nicholas Fantham, and UOW representative Shaye Hitchcock
President's Message
It is always a pleasure to hear from our ARH Indigenous Health Scholar Maddie Lawson and John Chaplin Memorial Scholar Nicholas Fantham. Both of our scholar's presentations gave us an insight into the progress of their studies and research and we are proud of their achievements to date. We wish them both well as they move to the next phases of their retrospective careers.
Our recent RYPEN participant Jayden Godbold spoke of her recent experience of the program, what she learnt and what she will take away with her. Her insights have again demonstrated the importance of Rotary Youth Programs and the value they provide to all participants our club sponsor to attend.
The Illawarra Rotary Charity Race Day last Saturday was a huge success, with all in attendance having a fantastic time, enjoying the best weather we have seen in the Illawarra in quite a while. A few managed to back a winner or two! A huge thank you to all who sponsored or supported the Race Day to make it such a special day in support of PCYC Illawarra and Green Connect Farm.
Pre-Meeting drinks this week followed by a short club meeting and our monthly Board Meeting directly after. If there is any matter you like the board to consider, please email Kerrie Hayes-Williams for inclusion in the board meeting agenda.
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday evening.
