Presidents Message
As shown pictorially below, it was a busy week for our club with a healthy mix of hard work and some socialising by our members.
Ray Lee has succesfully managed to split his Native Beehive and arranged for the installation of the split hive at Lake Heights Primary School during the week. Well done Ray !
The Race Day commitee met last Tuesday Night at The Fraternity Club. A new Gold Sponsor has been secured and several Silver Sponsors have also been locked in. We really new the support of all members to identify other potential sponsors and also Patrons to attend our race day.
Our Social Night at Figtree Hotel last Wednesday was well attended by 20+ members and partners. It was a fantastic night, enjoyed by all present, though none of us got to win the meat raffle. Thank you to Janet Crakanthorp for organising it. Our next social night is Wednesday 1 July @ The German Club, Kembla Grange.
And lastly, our RCWW Information Stand and Gold Coin Donation Sausage Sizzle at the Crown Street Farmers Markets took place last Friday. Though a cold start, I think all those who helped on the day agreed it was a very worthwhile exercise, raising awareness of Rotary and Our Club. We had several genuine inquiries about membership of our club and also for attending our race day. We are keen to try it again when the weather warms up a little. Thank you to all who attended and to Annette Lavender for organising the stand with Wollongong City Council.
This week's guest speaker is our own Ros Yeoman, who will be speaking of her recent adventures in the Great Inland Way. I encourage all members to attend and I look forward to seeing you there.
