Pride of Workmanship Winners
         President's Message

There are many reasons to be proud of our Rotary Club. One of them is our Pride of Workmanship (POW) Awards and Presentation Dinner, held last week at Centro CBD, where six very worthy recipients were presented with their awards.
  • Mike Knight from MGK Automotive Services.
  • Kaine Mulhall from Meadow Street Meats.
  • Irene Karlis from Hellens Hair Artistry.
  • Simon Sachmacinski from Newfangled Building.
  • Anne Adamson from Woonona-Bulli RSL Women's Auxiliary.
  • Phil Williams from Woonona-Bulli RSL Sub-Branch.
Our wholehearted thank you goes to Jim Christensen for once again organising the POW Awards, interviewing the recipients, inviting guests, organising trophies, photos etc. Thank you also to John Erickson for stepping in while Jim was away and to our wonderful Master of Ceremonies for the night, Ray Lee. Thank you also to Rita Giampieri for her wonderful presentation on 'What Rotary is to the Community'. Feedback from recipients, their guests and members was very positive, so let's hope we can run the event again next year.

Several of our members, their partners and friends, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon last Tuesday at The Charles Hotel for Melbourne Cup. Some, though I'm not saying who, walked away with more in their pocket than when they arrived! Thank you to Rose Pope & Dennis Simpson for organising the afternoon; it was lots of fun.

Our AGM is fast approaching and serious consideration needs to be given as to who will be the club's next President(s). Several current members of the Board of Directors have expressed their desire to continue on the Board, but as yet, the President Elect role remains vacant.

A reminder that this coming Monday, 17 November, we have a BBQ at Bunnings and volunteers are needed in almost all time slots on the day. Please register your availability to help out through ClubRunner registration or email to Rose Pope.

This weeks Guest Speaker is Tracey Gleaves from Recovery Camp, one of the organisations we are supporting through our donations program. I look forward to seeing you all at this week's meeting.

Cheers,
President Phil
