A Great Night of Fellowship

What a well-attended social night we had on Wednesday!

A big thank you to John, who clearly thought of everything. A great venue, plenty of good food (and therefore plenty of calories!), and enough stairs to ensure we had the opportunity to work some of those calories off again – up, down, up, down!

It was a terrific night of fellowship, conversation and plenty of laughs, and it was great to see so many members enjoying themselves outside our usual meeting environment.

Unfortunately, for one of our members, the name Corrimal Hotel sounded just a little too much like Corrimal RSL – resulting in an unexpected case of wrong venue, right night!

Thanks again, John, for organising such an enjoyable evening. Nights like this are a great reminder that Rotary isn't just about what we do in the community – it's also about the friendships we build along the way.

Cheers,

President Barry

REMINDER:

TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE AUSTRALIAN ROTARY HEALTH’S (ARH) HAT DAY

What does that mean for those attending?

Well, for starters make sure you wear a hat of your choice.

Otherwise, our beloved Sergeant may be looking to extract substantial fine monies from those not wearing a hat… and, as the fines will be donated to ARH, he’s not averse to accepting the ‘folding stuff’ or even digital payment/s.

There may be even a prize or two for those who put in a special effort and wear something different or outrageous! (Our Sergeant will be the judge on the night, and any bribes passed his way will be duly passed on to ARH).

Why?

Because tonight we’ll be helping ARH’s campaign to ‘Lift the Lid on Mental Illness’ by raising a few dollars that will go directly into research helping one in five Australians affected by depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and many other illnesses.

ALL donations will be gratefully accepted and, if required, a tax-deductible receipt can be arranged for direct deposits to ARH.

More information about ARH’s ‘Lift the Lid on Mental Illness’ campaign and how it ties in with Mental Health Month will be mentioned during this evening’s meeting.

So, come along, learn a bit and also have a bit of fun along the way!
