Membership & Public Relations Report
Membership
Although new members did not eventuate this past year, we had a few interested candidates who were sent welcome and information emails about our club. Some of those were from guest speakers and the recent citizenship ceremony.
Sadly due to work commitments we are losing Duncan Rutherford. He has been a dedicated Rotarian for many years. Also sadly, Kate Thomas has decided to join an E Club to travel and follow Rotary and personal interests locally and abroad.
Public Relations
Public relations and community promotion were successful on many fronts this year, generating valuable discussion about West Wollongong Rotary’s local and international work, as well as the social benefits and opportunities offered by our club and its members.
Some of the ways we interacted and promoted our club were:
- Wollongong Community Markets Rotary stall & barbecue
- Walk Against Domestic Violence
- End Polio Train Ride
- RYDA
- Primary and High School Citizenship Award Presentations
- Scholarship Presentations
- Pride of Workmanship Ceremony
- Citizenship Ceremony
- Combined Illawarra Rotary Charity Race Day
- Police Awards
