Nicholas Fantham

Nicholas was successful in being awarded this two-year scholarship in 2024. In 2025 he is undertaking his honours year of a Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology (Dean’s Scholar) at the University of Wollongong. His passion is focussed on the areas of medical research and pharmaceutical design... hence his research involvement within UOW’s Skropeta Research Group, where he is in a position to gain valuable research experience.
By way of general background, Nicholas comes from country NSW, near Bega. Clearly a driven student from the outset as he was school captain and dux of the high school he attended prior to enrolling at UOW. In 2020, Nicholas was awarded the ‘Caltex Best All Rounder”, which is a national school awards program that recognises outstanding qualities in the areas of leadership, service & community, sport, arts & culture, attitude and personal conduct.
Along with a strong academic record, Nicholas has been actively involved with several community organisations both in a ‘hands-on’ capacity as well as fundraising for a number of organisations.
